My Health BatTle Journey

If there is one thing I have become so passionate about then that's defiantly all things health, nutrition, well-being and creating a healthier balanced life.

From suffering myself with my own health issues including my hormones, digestive gut issues and so much more, I want to bring to light the importance of looking after our bodies from the inside and out.
Becoming so out of balance with my body lead me to creating many problems internally for almost 7 years and at 21 I am still trying to work on healing my body.
Therefore I want to share my story for anyone else out there who may be suffering themselves.
It goes without saying that in todays society its all go go go, which creates so much stress on our bodies. Although I'm so happy now that topics like this are being spoken about. There are so many people including both men and woman who are still dealing with the same/very similar issues as my own.

For years I have suffered with my gut issues to the points sometimes my family would need to rush me to the emergency centre. For so long being in pain, crying, in complete discomfort and not being able to eat anything.

I would have multiple of appointments on appointments with either my doctors or the hospital, with nothing ever really being resolved.
Sometimes I even found myself telling the doctors more information than they was telling me, ending with the same old blood tests and feeling I was never getting anywhere.
Not only that, but also my hormones. Almost 7 years and counting I have suffered with my hormones. I have tried many times to heal my body and only twice it has been successful.

After being told by doctors they didn't know what was wrong with me and being prescribed pharmaceutical medication just to mask the problems for the time being, instead of healing it from the root cause.
This all finally lead me to researching and looking deeper into this myself to try find any way to heal my body.
I decided to go through the holistic root. (Which some people don't seem to believe in) but I soon come to realise that healing starts from within and there's no better way than natural ways.

How did I start ..

First I did my research! Which was all I could think about at one point.
I found a holistic health woman who worked with me and my problems to find the underlying cause. For the first time I felt I was getting somewhere and being heard by people who understood.
This lead me to getting testing done to see what was happening in my gut. Soon realising I had a bacterial overgrowth (Candida overgrowth) and leaky gut which lead to my gut microbiome being so out of balance.

First, I started which healing through the food I was eating. Which included removing any sugar (processed, sugar alternatives, all fruit, etc.), all starches, grains, all which would fuel the bacteria to grow and develop.
Being told 'Jess your gut is so damaged' I had to build it from the ground up' which meant starting from the basics.
At the beginning yes it was hard, but there wasn't a time that I went out of this way of eating for 3-6 months, no excuses.
It all starts with food. 'You are what you eat'.

I also started on natural herbal supplements and Chinese medicine that worked on healing my gut naturally. So many people wouldn't believe that Chinese and natural medicine would actually work because todays society is so reliant on being prescribed counter medication to fix a problem.
But believe it or not, I'm at the best iv been in years with still a long way to go.

There's a reason why we say 'trust your gut, your gut knows'. Everything starts in the gut and has so much to do with your health than you may think. Therefore we need to look after it instead of putting things into our bodies that disrupt it.

I'm still trying to heal my body through nutritious food and supplements everyday and I will share more blog posts on this topic and what has worked for me.
